Principles of Animation

Learning the Principles of Animation at the School of Motion was a pivoting moment in my Motion Design journey. Below are the animations I created during my Animation Bootcamp course. These principles enhanced even the most primitive of shapes empowering me with the tools to tell a story and have a blast at my job by seeing the outcome. Is this real life? My passion for motion breathes life.

Pong Challenge

This animation is a great example of how using animation principles can give life to even the most fundamental shapes. We have two sticks that become characters and tell a story by staging them and applying principles such as anticipation, squash and stretch, follow-through, arc, and secondary animation. Add some sound effects and we now have a story.

Eye Tracing

This animation focuses on creating a path for your eyes to follow using the 4 provided style frames. The shapes reminded me of a jazzy beat which inspired me to add a jazzy upbeat track. I created animations and transitions that playfully sync with the audio track.

Reinforcing Movement

This animation focuses on reinforcing movement. The circular motion of the elements transitions smoothly to reveal the logo.
